Sunken Sun, Sunken Soul
Design and typography for a PDF booklet accompanying a freely distributed digital release by Tomer Damsky & The Quantum Choir. The album presents contemporary avant-garde interpretations of early Israeli folk songs (Shirei Eretz Israel), focusing on largely forgotten pieces with a darker, more pessimistic tone. In contrast to the genre’s typically hopeful character, the project highlights the hardships and failures of early settlers, offering an alternative narrative to that shaped by mainstream Zionist culture.
The release includes a digital album, a three-part video series, and the booklet.
The booklet includes credits, two essays by Tomer Damsky and Oded Erez, lyrics and translations, and images.
Cover art by Nir Doliner.
Released by Mazkeka Records.
